Peace in Solidarity

Shit really be good until it isn’t,

this many years trapped in my life,

I’d probably be better off in prison,

you held the keys to my freedom,

dropped them down the disposal claiming I didn’t need em,

letting me out to the yard,

but with chains and fences just to ensure I didn’t go far,

it’s wild how one person, one text can fuck up my mood,

trying to keep me trapped for crimes I didn’t do,

You served your time as the warden sending me to solitary,

now go celebrate your victory with a sundae, sprinkles, and a cherry,

you no longer control my life,

I suggest you go live yours,

I no longer am responsible for handling your chores,

let me walk beyond the gates and enjoy my future,

cuz it’s clear that you still hold on to the past,

Counting the days etched in the wall,

Searching for a way to see me in shackles,

It’s like your joy was to see me in misery,

Eating bullshit,

While you enjoyed a feast,

Funded by the government,

I promise I exit with peace,

If I never see you smile through your teeth again,

It’ll be too soon and,

It’ll be the day when all my days end
